SAMPLE PREP TECHNICIAN
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Comply with Health, Safety and Environmental state and federal regulations and adhere to all
company policies and procedures
Act in a safe and professional manner and always wear appropriate attire including required PPE
while in a production environment
Ability to recognize safety as the organization’s highest priority
Able to understand and follow instructions
Prepare client samples for analysis in a safe and timely manner
Inform the Sample Prep Supervisor of any nonconforming events related to client samples or
other departmental operations
Be alert and observe, correct, and report all unsafe conditions to your Supervisor
Assure that appropriate task training has been completed and documented for all equipment, and
systems
Ensure proper functioning of Sample Prep operations by monitoring the performance of
equipment
Ensure adequate inventory of supplies
Practice good housekeeping
Communicate general lab issues to the Sample Prep Supervisor as appropriately

Experience & Qualifications:
1 to 2 years’ experience in Sample Prep in a laboratory environment or equivalent position of
manual labor such as construction.
High school or equivalent.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
Strong work ethic, personal and organizational skills
Must be able to stand, walk and bend for long periods of time
Able to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Familiar with LIMS a plus

and samples safely in a lab environment. Bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting and reaching is required.
